Send Check-In Link
How to send a check-in link to your guest. Learn what the guest sees, including the value-first flow with WiFi and access info before the condition walkthrough.
Overview
The check-in link is a mobile-friendly page your guest opens on their phone. It walks them through viewing property details, accepting house rules, and photographing each room's condition. No account is needed.
Sending the link
- Go to Stays in the sidebar.
- Open the stay detail page for the guest.
- Click Send Check-In Link.
You can also copy the link manually and send it through any channel (WhatsApp, Airbnb messenger, SMS, etc.).
If you added the guest's email when creating the stay, STRProof sends the link automatically on the check-in date.
What the guest sees
The check-in flow follows a value-first design. Guests get the information they need most before being asked to document condition.
Step 1: Welcome and guide
The guest sees:
- The property name and their stay dates
- The guest guide: WiFi name and password, access code, parking, directions, and check-in notes
- Sensitive fields (WiFi password, access code) are hidden behind tap to reveal
Step 2: House rules
If you have set house rules for the property:
- The guest sees all rules listed on screen
- They must tap I Accept to continue
- Their acceptance is timestamped and recorded
Step 3: Consent
The guest is asked to consent to having their photos stored for condition documentation purposes. This is required in many jurisdictions.
Step 4: Room-by-room photos
For each room in the property:
- The room name is displayed at the top
- The guest can upload photos of the room's current condition
- They tap Looks Good to confirm the condition or Flag Issue to note something they spotted
- The process repeats for every room
Step 5: Confirmation
After all rooms are photographed, the guest sees a confirmation screen. They can close the page — no further action is needed.
After check-in
- You receive a notification that check-in is complete.
- The condition report is generated automatically.
- You can view the report from the stay detail page.
- The guest's photos and timestamp are sealed and cannot be edited by either party.
Tips
- Ask guests to complete check-in within a few hours of arrival for the most accurate timestamps.
- Make sure the guest guide is filled in before sending the link — guests see it immediately.
- If a guest has trouble with the link, they can open it in any mobile browser. No app download is required.
